What Model is this? (should be DB2831-xxxx)

4911R
Think it's new

So, judging by the red tag, and "R" following the 4911, and the shop sticker visible on the other side, I am going to bet good money its a rebuild.

judging by the care in the new tag, should I assume the shop was reputable and assume there was a new head and rotor? I am awaiting info on the sticker, I will ask here and on agtalk if the shop is reputable. What is SOP on rebuilding a DB2? is the advance piston and head and rotor almost allways replaced?

do you guys think its a good price?

Ya, the red tag is a Stanadyne authorized remanufacturer. My '93 pump bears a red tag after being doctor'd up by Columbus Diesel. Was blue.

info from the guy:

The Black sticker says
DIESEL EQUIPMENT SALES & SERVICE, INC.
potterville, Mi St. Louis, Mi
517-645-7684 517-681-2320

anyone from Michigan know these guys?

If memory serves me correctly that shop in St. Louis Michigan isn't too far away from me... less then 20 minutes, but I DO NOT have any personal experience with them.

so the lack of caps on the fittings doesnt scare anyone?

my old man said if a fresh IP sits too long it may seize up. I guess from condensation?

the guy said they got it in a large parts purchase, and are selling off stuff they dont need or sell. so I hope it was well packaged and wasnt pitched into a crate and has nicked threads on the fittings and crap down the fittings.

is it up to the rebuilder's discretion whether to change the head and rotor, or does stanadyne highly recommend/ require it to be done to be worthy of the red rebuild tag?

the guy keeps mentioning "I think its new" apparently the 4911R, and the red tag, and the pump rebuild shop sticker dont do it for him. :)
original color on the tag is blue, like the DS4 pumps, correct?

They can't really test the H@R so it really is up to the builder. The 4911 was known for bad H@R's so its a crap shoot. I tried to look closely but to me, it looks like its not new. Still, if you can chew him down, its still worth buying.
