Once the IP is adjusted on a 99 3500 with Theft Deterent. Is there a time frame before the KOKO is performed? I hooked up my laptop to view the TDCO and registered a value of 1.68 so I adjusted it to the drivers side and drove home. It really had some power, actually broke the tires loose leaving the shop. When I got home I scanned it and registered a -2.38 wooha too much. I then adjusted the IP back about 1mm and then registered -0.62. I re adjusted the IP agin a little back to the driver side, and I turned off the truck waited about 5 min, mashed the pedal turned the key to on, waited for 45-50 sec and then turned the key to off, waited about 35-40 sec and turned to cycle the GP and fired it up. once up and running I scanned it again and it still registered -0.62. i know it isn't though. Also if you don't do the KOKO does the computer automatically adjust to the new value?

Car Code PC software. It works pretty decent. I know about the 170F I just wondered if the Theft Deterent was touchy. It was a PITA when Heath sent me the new PCM and the guys in shipping sent me the wrong procedure sheet. Bill straightened it out in 5 mins.

Thanks AK!!!!!! And Quomack!!!!!! That's too cool!

Yep thanks again AK and Quomack, that thread helped me tremendously also with the carcode.

The biggest thing that helped me was when watching the TDCO you click the tdco window once every 6 seconds and it will cycle through the available TDCO values within range of the stepper motor.

If you turn all other monitoriing information OFF, so your only watching TDCO and timing, it updates much faster.

Doing a KOKO or a Timeset the stepper motor will go to each extreme of the possible advance/retard.

Then TDCO set lets you cycle between the values in certain incriments within those ranges. Turning the truck off with desired value as Quomack suggests works like a champ.

-- The above timing statements are based on my experience and understanding. I do not wish to mislead anyone if they are wrong. The value of this advice is the same as what you paid for it. :)

Update!
I set the TDCO today. It was pretty straight forward but had some trial and error (my fault) just getting use to the software. Got the TDCO set to -1.94!!! Thanks again qwomack and AK! You guys rock!
