I came across a write up on the 6.5 on thedieselpage and wondered if anyone thought it'd be worth purchasing their book. I can see the reasoning of why would you/I buy a book when all the information is readily available on here - but I guess I'm wondering because its condensed into a book - a little easier to just read through and see. Just thought I'd check.

Alot of that info was put there from the guys here. They were over there and helped build that site and some "stuff" went on and they came over here to get away from it. Just to give you some background since you're "new" here. I am not saying not to buy it but all the info there can be gotten here free.

The books are great! They have tons of useful info in them! My only problem with them is that you have to buy several books to get the complete information. It just depends on how far you want to go with your truck.

I purchased a membership at the page a couple of years ago. It's actually very good info, and a lot more organized than picking our collective brains.

That said, a lot of what you learn is the same, i.e. weak points with the 6.5, how to fix them, history of the 6.5, etc.

I have a couple of the books. I rec'd them from someone who sold them to me (with a whole bunch of other goodies) on Craigslist. They are simply printouts of a lot of the articles found on the page. At least my books are.

I was a member there for yrs, same info here for free.
I got the books though, handy to have without having to go online and waiting for some one to pipe in on a basic question.

I have the books, they are handy and have a lot of great information.

Like stated above everything in the books can be found here.

Thats the biggest reason I could see for getting it/ them.. 'Sides that it's always nice to have "paper" in your hands when your looking for something. jmho

Been a Mod over there for many years. The materials in question are worth every penny.
Biggy is that when you want a reference book, its in your hands.

The materials are specific and accurate.

OH, I dont get anything for plugging TDP just a good site and love the folks there the same as I do the folks here.

I speak often to Jim and Greg on the phone. Good people.

Many times I have similar or same post running at both boards.

Durring the DaHoooley build up I had a picture and blow by blow account running here and there.

JUST MY 2C worth

Sooooo..... It appears that consensus answer to your question is: YES, it's worth it as a great at-your-fingertips reference and "bedtime reading".

I believe that this forum serves a different purpose - in large part, it helps me to solve problems interactively and to pick on the assembled mass of wisdom that is here. Buying the book from the other place will give you a great foundation of accurate knowledge about your 6.5.

Both are of value.

I like to have a reference book in my hands, that's why I joined there and bought the books. Yes you can ask and get an answer if you don't mind the wait. JMO

I'd like those books too. FWIW, I joined the forums there, bure rarely visit. .

This is the place to be as far as 6.5 Forums go. Bar None. Done Deal. NO comparisons.

If that helps.
