My blower motor on my truck that I have been shooting with oil the last couple yrs finally stopped or at least I thought chit the bed.

Sprung for a new one with the cage $25 bucs. Had my boy install for me, came home from work Friday & asked him did ya get it going, he replied nope nutta nothing it still won't run? Needless to say he was a bit frustrated

I remember you (Barry) telling me about that plug behind the glove box that would burn up, sure enough it was toast. Cut that bad boy out & replaced it with 2 splice in butt connectors & the the new fan was off to the races

Thanks Barry U Da Man :tiphat

I got that tip from Bobbie Martin.
If you leave it go too long it will fry the resisters for the different speeds. It usually starts out as no high speed. Makes the control go goofy also because of the lack of ground.

I added an extra ground to mine when the plug first started to go. My blower motor is still good to go, but the plug wasn't. Been going strong for almost 2 years now since I added the extra ground and fixed the plug.

X2 on a extra ground from the blower motor. IMO the OEM blower motors short out to take this plug out as repairs without a new motor also burn up. Or have for me anyway.

You may not like the cheap Chinese motor as it is louder then a ACdelco motor.

Thanks!

Is adding a ground wire sufficient from the blower frame enough or needed or should I splice an additional connector & wire into the existing OEM ground wire? Hope that question made sense...need ground details.

An extra ground to the dash frame or body worked for me untill I found the fried connector. The ground on the harness is the ground for all the dash and instrument cluster. Going to the body would relieve some of the load on the harness ground.
