I was messing around on my truck today and thought this would work well.

It looks like he added some kind of adapter/reducer(hence thread name) and tack welded it to his receiver.

Nobody will be able to steal that thing for sure!

Unless you have a 4" grinder; On edit: that would be alot of grinding....not worth stealing...

ok I dont see it

On the NBS trucks, they come with 2.5" receivers. They also come with 2" adapters that slide in. I have heard of a lot of these going missing, and I have had it almost fall out a couple of times after forgetting to put the pin in it, so I tacked it in place and painted it.

I was just joking around, it's not really a mod. It was just something I did when I was bored on a nice sunny day!

To me, it would have been much easier just to take it OFF and store it in my tool box with the rest of the towing equipment and put it back in when I need it.

But, hey, whatever floats your boat. For sure, you will never lose it now. :)

soooo i guess you never plan on running a hitch with a 2.5" neck?

No....and if I do, it will take me about 5 minutes with a die grinder, no big deal.

Yeah, I was doing that for a while but it's a little bit of a PITA to have to keep putting it in and out, just thought this would be easier!!
