Ted's Trucks and Stuff (ebay)

Happened upon this ebay listing for HMMVV take out long blocks purportedly with 10k to 40k on mileage. Supposed to be take outs from periodic gov't repowers. Has the big deep oil pan, valve covers and that's it.

Anybody running one from this place?

Sent them a message for a shipping quote. I knew it was going to be 'not cheap'. $1600 for the engine and 403.75 to get it to a terminal for pick up.

I have not yet (soon though) tore into my '93. Just have a bad feeling about cracks and THINGS. Weighing my options and trying to iron out a PLAN B.

Winter's coming quick and I need a project.

well, look in the classifieds for a 93 with a good motor and a blown tranny! I am just thinking of buying a whole truck to kill and repower mine.

Watch out with Ted's auctions. The one I saw claimed it was a turbo engine from a humvee... the heads are different than most 6.5's!!

A turbo humve engine is like a turbo van engine....

That's exactly what they are...

It's the center turbo deal, huh? Are the heads backwards or something? Like, exhaust ports in the center? Intake on the outer?

Like Ford's revolutionary new Scorpion engine? :sleepy:

The interface angle between the heads and intakes are different (center mount turbo uses a weird intake setup.)
