Tech: Every possible dash switch for GMT800 trucks

Got Bored.

With the help of Devin (83GMCK2500) we researched every possible dash mounted switch GM offered in the GMT800 series trucks/suvs. Note there is a break between 99-02 and 03-07c. The 99-02 switches are grey and typically have lettering associated with them, while 03-07c are black and use symbols instead of lettering. I have seen most of these switches in some form, and have pictures of most if anyone is interested.

This is something we've been tinkering with for a while now.

Yeah, there are quite the host of switches used in these trucks.

The ones I have for the right compartment:

Aux lamp (x2)
Traction Control
Ride Control
Parking Assist Disable
Air Bag Disable (came stock, now behind my glovebox)
Power Sliding Rear Window (is part of that window kit I have for sale)

I have plans for the aux lamps for additional lights, the traction control will be some form of a locker, and the rest are undecided.

Nice work. Now do one for the GMT400 trucks!

There's a couple rare ones out there. I know there's a fog light switch that only came on some '95s, I believe. And I have one in my bucket truck that looks exactly like a cargo lamp switch but it's on the left of the steering column in the dash and it controls a solenoid on the firewall.(actually, mine is a CL switch because the original switch was missing and I can't find a replacement!) I assume it's meant for a snow plow? Mine is used to activate the flashing beacon lights on the boom. But it's a factory switch that says 'Aux' or 'Aux Lights' on it. I've only seen a one or two other trucks with that swich.

David and I have talked about the second half of GMT-400 trucks and there aren't many. FWIW that elusive fog light switch you mentioned should also be in 1999 & 2000 Tahoe Limiteds, Escaldes, Denalis, & maybe something else...

The fog lamp switch would be in any truck ordered with factory fog lights (rare option, but many 2wd "sport" trucks had them). Fog lights in trucks and suvs were available 89-97, and then again on the Escalade/Denali/Tahoe z71/Tahoe limited from 99-00. The AUX lamp switch was in any police packaged tahoe, and in trucks with the pre-wiring for a roof beacon (usually truck with a snow plow or wrecker prep package). Devin is correct, there just isn't much available for them.

Also what about the 88-94 trucks? I have a panel from a Burb that has a knock out in every position. I have a fog light, defrost, cargo light and hatch switch. Would like to fill the rest even if just for looks until I find a function for them.
