I,m replaceing my pcm on a 99 suburban whith a heath gle. It seems that the otc genisys scan tool I have is not capabale of this, do I need to find a differnt scanner or did I miss something?

Matt, the KOKO is for the learn. I know you knew that, just a dyslexic moment I'm sure.

You need a tech II but the heath instructions tell you how to do the TDCO relearn.

TDCO checked today was -1.97.....What should I see/feel/experience performance and sound related?.....Act timing was 8.8....WTF?

Is the -1.94 to -1.97 a big deal?......PMD?? Injectors?? Grounds????

Also had P1216 and 1217, any relation to the TDCO?

Don't forget I have those Dead pedal cold starts, and they seem to be getting worse.

I used Genisys, but only to see my TDCO. I used KOKO procedure to learn, and then adjusted the pump to what I wanted. Otherwise, genisys cannot help us.

are you putting any oil in your fuel?

10-4, 30W-ND (As per Mr. Heath)....bout 1 oz. per gallon W/ Power Service @ bout 1/2 oz. per gallon.

I used Snap On "Modis" (Gives you all the data, like GMTD Scan or AE), but why would you perform KO KO if your/my TDCO was already at, minus 1.94 - 1.97......It's already at the sweet spot, why do you force the PCM to learn with KOKO?....Your already there.

You wouldn't need to reset Louis that is where it needs to be for max HP, where it gets cold I prefer -1.5 myself difference performance with -1.95 & -1.5 isn't significant. when you start getting above -1.94 you are knocking on the threshold of the limit -2.02 where you start getting IP codes, clear the codes if they come back, maybe retard to -1.5 and see if that doesn't clear it up. How many miles on this IP ?

You -1.97 might actually only be -0.25 if the scanner isnt telling the truth. Tech 2 or Car Code would be correct for sure.

Or if the scanner is close to correct, the -1.97 could be simply how the scanner software defined the TDCO parameter for the data that is output by the PCM. It comes out as hex and the scanner has to interpret it and have the correct multipliers for all of the values. A small decimal place rounding could cause your reading to be slightly off. Several of the Snap Ons have different definitions for the TDCO and show values all over the place.

Good point Buddy,

When I was looking to upgrade my MT2500 since they only now have limited support now, MT2500s are being phased out for newer MODUS, it may still have rTDCO reading problems as the older software did. According to Snap On technical services they were supposed to have corrected this.

Louis when we hook up later, I'd like to compare the MT2500 to the Modus, I've compared to Carcode and Tech 2 so I have the corrections for that and should be able to see if it actually mirrors the T2 or T2 clones.

OK because the way I read it , It sounded like there was a descrpincy. Now here is the killer question... Which one(AE or Carcode) works most like GMTDScan....?
