My injectors from Accurate Diesel should be here this week so I'll be ready to install them and the new A Team turbo. While the injectors are out and turbo removed, what would be involved in a leak down test? I'm hoping one of the auto parts houses has one to rent. What is the proceedure for doing this? I have no reason to suspect anything is out of sorts but just thought it would be a good thing to do (along with an oil analysis) to get a good base line condition on the motor at 165,000 miles.

Thanks

Lance

See if it holds compression..............

Much easier to do that through the glow plug hole as it may be difficult to find a 30mm oraface, where as glow plugs are 3/8ths NPT IIRC.

a compression test is the only way to test the mill for healty rings and valves.
A guy could use the lower body half of an old injector, with a fitting welded to it that fits the gauge hose if he wants to test trough the inj bores.
Thats what i did for the # 6 and 8 glowplug holes ,cause they aint that easy to get at with the glowplug adaptor.
