has anyone put a 6.5 in a k1500 I want to put my 6.5 engine in place of my 350 but I don’t want to swap out the front end and stuff for heavier duty stuff will the truck hold up with that 6.5??

There are 1500 made with the 6.5.
The springs are heavier because of the added weight. I never compared anything else in the front end.

Make sure you are legal to do the swap by your local smog laws.
Make sure you are very familiar with the 6.5 before doing the swap, Many people get a 6.5 really cheap or free then think the rest of it wont be expensive. Chances are you need a trans to go with it (nv4500 or 4l80e), and the fuel tank and wiring changes can be a bit involved. If you know the 6.5 and build it to overcome the issues it has, it does make for a nice 1/2 ton when done.
