Here are a few pics of what I found in there.

I had considered just swapping out the upper until I got a better look...:nonod:

Just could not see leaving that mountain of chit smack dap in the middle of the air flow path. I already had both upper & lower intakes so on they went.

I've only run it a couple hundred miles since I swapped em last weekend, but it does seem to have helped with performance of the truck especially from a dead stop. I recently swapped the factory 235/75/15's for 275/55/20's and that had left the truck a tad sluggish feeling from a stop. The intake swap seems to have gained me back some of what I lost from changing the final drive ratio with the larger tires/wheels.

The motor does seem to make a little more noise now but surely nothing that is earth shattering. I like the diesel rattle so it's just sounding more like what a diesel should sound like IMO.

So bottom line, yup it was worth it and thanks for the words of encouragement from all of you here to do it right :grouphug:

There ya go...a little feedback for those who wanted it.

Enjoy

PS wanted to add a thanks to forum member jamierayo for both the F upper & lower intakes :tiphat
