OK guys I have an early 1999 3/4 ton crew cab 4X4 Chevy that has 120K and has been very well cared for it's whole life. There is a rattle in what I think is the front suspension but I have crawled around under it and can't seem to find where it's coming from. I've checked all the skid plates and anything that moves and can't find it. I've tried it with it sitting on the ground I've raised the front so the suspension isnt under a load........it's driving me crazy. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Ride the brakes lightly while you go over a section of road where you know it happens (keep your foot on the gas to maintain speed).

If it goes away with your foot on the brake, my $$ says it's the caliper pin bushings. Happens to a lot of GMT-800 trucks.

My Vote goes to Caliper Rattle.

I have it on my Truck too, got the Parts, just need to Crawl Under and get it done.

Could be rear spring retainers - harmless. A noise as old as GM itself...
