I do a fair amount of weed eating. I have a fairly strong Stihl straight shaft brush cutter and use a bump feed head that came with it originally.
I just switched to the newer simulated "twisted line" and its ok maybe a little tougher than the square / diamond profile orange stuff.
I saw a TV ad for a a pivot head that string pivots and was pretty impressive. It appeared to tackle fence edging that I eat up my line on. I should have strung the field fence another 4 inches off the ground. Uhgg read that tip a year late.
Lowes has a "Ugly Head" that appears to be similar it has 3 seperate mini pivot heads that you individually thread a set U shaped piece of string. Its suppose to be better at not breaking on obstacles.
Mostly I have pasture Fescue, briars, dog fennel, and weeds along hog wire / field fence. I need to knock it down some then spray herbicide.
Any feedback on these new pivot heads?
