So I have been having these stalling and SES light problem on and off for 2 months now.
First advise Get a Heath PMD------ Did not fix Problem
Second Remove Filter Harnes------- Did not Fis Problem
Check Voltages at harness All OK
Replace Filter Harness ------------Still problem

Thanks for all your time and help with my pro

I had PMD like stalling symptoms on my truck and it turned out to be a bad connection on the fuel shut off sol. fuse in the engine bay fuse block. It's worth a look and cheap too.

I see you have a remote mount intake kit SSDs ???, IIRC those had you move the IP fuel solenoid gnd off the IP and put on the remote, if you still have that config, that gnd needs to be returned to the IP .

It's a Heath Remote unit. Ground is still on the Pump. I used to have a second ground on the pump at the same spot but I moved it to one of the other screws today just in case it was part of the problem.
I am starting to think it is the Optical sensor. I bought GMTDScan on Thursday .. I will have to wait for the cable to see what is going on when it goes SES..

Use a paperclip to get the trouble codes.

Look at troublecodes.net for a good rundown on how to use the paperclip.....

Post up the codes...

Yep - there's a how-to, complete with diagram, posted in the 6.5 Technical library under OBD-I... click here.

Only works with our old trucks... OBD-II needs a code reader or scanner.

17 and 18 can be related to the OS filter harness.

35 and 36 are injection pulse width codes.

Clean all grounds, clear the codes and see what comes back....

Have you cleared the codes and then see what set again, because you used to just have 18 and 35, but I think youve unplugged the OS harness (to check voltage) and will cause additional codes.

When/why did you change the PCM and chip? What is
PCM part#:
Chip part# or 4 letter broadcast code:
IP part# or model#:

I have the stock PCM I have a DTech PMD from Heath
My Ip is a DS-4 5521

I am starting to believe that my Optical sensor is FUBAR:
I have a pump from a 99 that that was dropped during a motor swap that I got on Ebay for $1 the Optical Sensor connector is broke and so is the stepper motor. I just wanted to have it to play with and see how these things work.. I don't see any way for a home Mechanic to change his OS you would have no reference to were to set it up.?

You said you replaced the PCM/chip, what chip part# or 4 letter broadcast code (like BPXY) did you put in?
