the left rear brakes keep sticking on my truck, I had removed the hub/drum and cleaned inspected and lubed everything, and it worked nice for about a week and started dragging again... it wierd, after i drive the truck maybe 1/2 mile it free's up, but if I park the truck and it cools for more than 10 minutes it locks itself up again.

Have you checked the emergency brake cable? Happened to me a few years back, same brake, and the cable was siezing inside the metal/rubber sheath.

Regards,
Art

I was having very simular problem until yesterday. I had been messing around with the brakes for weeks. Took the drums off a couple times to inspect, looked fine? I finally just took the drums and had them turned. The pass side cleaned up in one pass on the machine. The driver side was out of round and took two passes. Not much, but it made all the difference in the world. So, anyway you may have a out of round drum??

I posted this in the other non 6.5 specific brake thread. Just so I cover both threads...

Glad you got it fixed.(In this case, not yet). I AM, however, going to ask you guys to post these non 6.5 specific threads in the right sections. This one goes with brakes. Us guys with the DMaxes, Cummins and PStrokes haven't always had them. For example, I've had the following GM trucks: '69, '83, '89, '92, '94, '97, '99, '00, '02, '03, '05, '06, & '07. I worked on every one exclusively... a couple for over 300k miles. There's a whole bunch of tech knowledge on here from the rest of us and we'd like you all to join us as often as you can. We like to help too.

I'm gonna post this same thing in the OTHER brake thread that's stuck in the 6.5 forum. I don't wish to pi$$ in anybody's Post Toasties, but I'd really like to see you guys make friends with the rest of our brotherhood here.
Thanks

Wheel cylinder should not be terribly expensive and easy to change. If it is sticky, just change it. It is hold by 2 or 3 screws at the most plus the brake fluid line. The most difficult part will be putting all the brake spring back together. So at this point, get a new shoes, new springs, turn the drum, bleed the brake in addition to the cylinder. Should be all set.
