Has anyone replaced any of the steering wheel switches? I have an 06 Chevy LT3 and some of the radio & info control switches lights are burned out. Looking at the wheel I'm not even sure how they would come out? Is this hard to do?

From what I understand one must pop the airbag off (there is a release you have to push from the backside of the steering wheel, I think it is through the little holes), and pull the steering wheel to get enough slack in the wires to pop the switches out. Though you need to unscrew the plastic cover off the back of the steering wheel go see the back of the switches.

I too have several lights burnt out and would like to do a write-up on replacing them, but I've got a test this Friday and don't have time to tear apart my steering wheel.

I would highly recommend replacing the switches instead of replacing the lamps inside. I tried the lamps and it was a pain in the ass. To small to solder IMO.
I tried and ended up with more not working than working.
My steering wheel was already removed since the clock spring was being replaced so I can not help with the wheel removal.
I do know you need to be sure and unhook the air bag. There is a yellow connector under the dash. Easy to find.

taking the air bag out gives you access to the harness and makes it much easier. the clunk is the lower end of the column so why wait if you can get the parts now.

From my understanding the air bag is a couple of screws in the back, are you saying that once removed their easy to access at that point? Maybe I'll Google a schematic.

On an 06, there are two spring pins that hold the air bag in. Two holes on either side of steering wheel. Something like a small screw driver will do. Just put them in the holes and push gently, the airbag should pull off.
You will see the wires wrapped around the column. If you are luck you will have enough slack to pry the switches out. If not you will have to remove the wheel and disconnect from the clock spring.
