I have a new problem with my 94 K2500 6.5TD. When going straight and making right and left turns on the road I have no problems. But if I crank my wheel more then half way left or right something seizes up and I come to a quick stop.

Any suggestions on where to start looking?

I did a quick glance under the truck but did not see any glaring broken parts staring me in the face. I am assuming that something in the front end is binding on itself causing the sudden stop, but what...

Thanks for the help!

Colby

both the brakes and steering get their power assist from the power steering pump via the hydro boost system. sounds to me like it's (the hydroboost) malfunctioning

What stops: steering or the truck/engine?

If its forward motion that comes to a stop I would check out the CV joints.

I'll halt this thread. Colby's wife was driving it and he left it in 4wd. I diagnosed it in a conversation over the phone.

I heard of somebody that had to back up 4 blocks from the post office back to school because the truck would not go forward.

The truck sat for a week because nobody to get to look at it.

When somebody did get a chance to look at it the truck drove perfectly. All they did was release the emergency brake and drive away.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. Everyone's wife has done exactly the same. ..

Sent from my SCH-I535

I told Colby that he needs to have a 4wd Birds and the Bees discussion with the wife.:hihi:

Actually, my wife hasn't done this, but I trained her. Just don't ask her to back a boat down a launch ramp.:hihi:
