Where is the best place to buy a GOOD starter at? I broke the S terminal off of the starter on my 01 donor truck when pulling the harness. Once I got it out it turned out to be a cheap rebuilt anyways so I want to put a good one back on it before I nestle it into my 95. Also I want to replace the rubber fuel lines on the engine, is the dealer the best place to get them? I see several of them are molded hoses, but after 8 years they are pretty brittle and cracked.

Once I find my camera cable I'll start a thread on the progress of my conversion. I was surprised at how quick the engine and tranny came out, although it was tight.

I have two with broken off S terminals....they break easy, stock rebuilt, what ever. Just clean it up and epoxy it back on, they are pricey.....

For the fuel hose, I used aeromotive/aeroquip hose, it's stiff enought to make the bends and not kink. I'll see which oneit is and a part # if you like. I wouldn't waste money on OEM....

I ended up getting a factory reman on EBAY for $96 on the starter, and already bought the lines at the dealer. Figure if they made it 8 years without breaking, I should be good for another 8.

I guess I was a little late on that one...doh! I'd epoxy the old starter up and stash it away. If you lick is like mine, the new one will never break, sell it and you new one will last only a few months....never fails for me...

Unfortunately the S terminal on mine ripped the wire clean out of the solonoid when it broke off or else I probably would have just fixed it. I checked aftermarket down here and nobody listed just a solonoid, and GM wanted over a $100 for it.
