Start & die

We have received a year 2000 K2500 for a blown trans. The truck was very durty, and the owner thought it was an intelligent thing to wash the inside. Yes, I said wash, with a high pressure cleaner, so well washed that the cabin was full of water and no more lights lite in the dashboard...:skep:

Took a reman trans and swap it.

tried to start the truck. We can hear the glow relay cycling.

Key on, start & die...

And this is all she does: start & die.

We tried an ECM from a 1999 K1500, still the same.

I'm thinkiing anti-theft :???:

Any opinion?

If anti-theft, how do you by-pass it or reset it?

Passlock Learn Proceedure from 1998 C/K Service manual. I guess it carries over to the 2000 Classics:

1. Attempt to start the vehicle (will start & stall), after engine stalled leave the ignition ON for 10 minutes (the secuirity light will remain ON for 10 minutes and go OFF).

2. After the secuirity lamp goes OFF, turn engine OFF for 30 seconds.

3. Again, attempt to start the vehicle (will start & stall), after engine stalled leave the ignition ON for 10 minutes (the secuirity light will remain ON for 10 minutes and go OFF).

4. After the secuirity lamp goes OFF, turn engine OFF for 30 seconds.

5. Again, attempt to start the vehicle (will start & stall), after engine stalled leave the ignition ON for 10 minutes (the secuirity light will remain ON for 10 minutes and go OFF) or untill DTC P1630 sets.

6. Turn ignition OFF for 30 seconds

7. Turn ignition ON and wait 30 seconds

8. Attempt to start engine
