Do they make SS braided rated for diesel fuel?

Would sure be nice to go from LP to Flt Mgr Via a brand new SS fuel line.

IF not even a nice pre-plumbed kit out of Any flexible fuel rated material for easy install?

Leroy?

I had some Summit Twist-Tite hose & fittings left over from a previous project. Left a chunk of it in a coffee can with diesel for a few weeks to see if the hose softened which it didn't. Plumbed the oil cooler & remote oil filters with braided stainless but thought it would be pretty overkill for a 15 psi max fuel line.

Plumbed a Racor 90 gph 30 micron pre lift pump and used the Summit socketless hose in -06 (3/8") size from the Racor to lift pump, to stock filter mgr, then fuel pressure gauge T & on into the IP with an 180 degree hose end.

Have a new lift pump from NAPA that their database said was for the '93 (stats said 20 gph). It will let fuel pressure drop a touch below 1 psi at peak demand. Gonna order the Walbro-FRB5 today for a little more flow/pressure capacity.

When I install the Walbro, I'll check the Summit Twist-Tite hose again to see how it's holding up.

Please take alot of pictures!

Will do. I chose the 90 gph Racor to have excess capacity & less restriction - plus I found it on ebay for $50. It's the Racor 490R w/ the little priming bulb - and I'd guess is similar or the same as Turbine Doc mounted.

The 90 gph filter element is long & took a bit of thinking to find a good location to mount it. Ended up mounting it on the truck's driver's side front bed crossmember which tucks it up fairly high. Besides keeping it out of harm's way, a location higher than fuel level in the tank should lessen the diesel bath experience when changing out a filter. Not certain if I got it high enough but will know at the first filter change.

Not sure what mounting options your utility body might have.

The original fuel lines being attached to those bellhousing bolt/studs GM loves to use on these trucks were a real PITA when pulling the engine, so followed MGW's lead & rerouted the supply & return lines up the cab floorpan/firewall under the hydroboost accumulator. Then attached 2 unions onto the bracket that holds the boost solenoid - so now there's a simple/quick place to disconnect fuel lines.

If you want to see the Racor mount, I can snap a few pics later this afternoon. Not certain how quick the Walbro will get here, but I can take pics when I mount it as well.

Yes please like to see the racor mount, thanks for the info.

I need to drop my tank to eliminate a possible cruddy sock problem, and the sock isn't going back on for sure. Goin racor like you then walbro. My prmary fuel line going from LP to Flt mgr isn't lookin the best, so I'm gonna hit that too before it spurts a leak.

Problem is, I have little experience with vehicle plumbing for fuel.

I also am going to T before IP and throw a guage there. Basically doing what you're doing, So the more pix of everything you can the better please and thank you.

Here 'ya go. Turned out to be timely to look at the Racor. They have a translucent bowl so you can see water or debri. Got under there to take the pics & found there is a little bit of stuff in the bottom.

It's tough to get a pic of the plumbing under the intake to the IP. Did that when assembling the engine as it's easy then.

I'd like to figure out a bit neater routing of the fuel supply & return lines over the bracket & to the filter mgr. The GP relay is squarely in the way of the best route with reasonable bends.

It's also worth mentioning that the Summit Twist-Tite stuff is a bit cheaper, but some sizes don't assembly quite as easily as the Aeroquip stuff. The Aeroquip takes a fair bit of effort & assembly lube to get on the fittings all the way. The -06 Summit stuff was the toughest (to get the hose all the way pressed on) I've ever used. Left some blood blisters & bruises on the hands. But once it's on, it is convincingly held on.

I will be doing something similar soon on my truck. New lines and tank. I want the stainless flexable setup like Russel lines or similar stuff from Summit.
I have a new HD Heath lift pump that has no issues and has over 4 lbs at WOT.
My only holdback at this point is I want a rear suburban tank to add capacity

I did both my oil cooler lines & remote oil filter with Summit's braided stainless hose & fittings - with mixed results.

If memory serves, I ran -08 for the oil cooler (matching my '95 block's port size). Those Summit hose ends & hose assembled just like the Aeroquip/Russell stuff & is dry as a bone/leak free as you expect when ponying up the dough to plumb w/ braided stainless.

The Summit -10 hose ends & hose I ran for the remote oil filter hasn't worked quite as trouble-free as the name brands. The 45 degree bend hose ends tend to want to spin in the direction they're being tightened onto the AN to NPT adapters. I tried to hold one in a certain orientation it had to be in, while tightening, & the tube twisted enough I didn't trust it - considering the downside to an oil line failure.

In the haste to finish the project, I just replaced that fitting with an Aeroquip I could get locally that day. That Aeroquip fitting is the only one of the 4 hose ends on my remote oil filter setup that is bone dry. The other Summit ends leak just enough to be unsightly. No significant volume loss, but there's always a drop of oil on them.

I wonder if these Summit fittings don't exactly match the Summit AN to NPT adapter's flare angle? In time I'll prolly swap the other 3 fittings to Aeroquip as it tick's me off that they aren't leak free as they should be.

I'm impressed smitty... That looks so nice and clean.

I can't wait to rid my undercarriage (and parking spot) of the quarts and quarts and quarts and quarts of oil i've been dripping out over the years...

The braided teflon lined hose will hold up to diesel very well. The problem will be finding a fitting to mate with the stock LP outlet. I will check on it and report back. If your going to put in a LP that has pipe threads it would be easy to come up with the hose then.

If installing an aftermarket LP and/or filter or installing a suburban tank these little fittings work perfect. You won't need to cut your original lines with them. They are not just a regular barb, but are metric thread and will seal against the Oring on the hard lines.

Parker store can make anything but I am sure I saw a conversion fitting to go from fuel tank to pipe. Maybe Walt's site ?? Howfar are you from Manchester ct? Also there is a really good hose shop in East Longmeadow but I have to find the name.
