I'm switching the transmissions and would like to keep the same dash. the speedo is electric, but the replacement tranny stll has a cable hook up. does anybody happen to know what the pulse per mile(PPM) was set at or where you can get a sensor that reads off the cable pickup.:mad2:

I found out that the VSS is set at 2,000 PPM. now comes the question, does the speedo see that or does the trans controller drop it some?

I can't think of anything that will make you speed cluster work....going from a auto tranny to a manual tranny with different outputs for speed, maybe you will have tp use a GPS for correct speed. Is the problem with the vehicle in your sig?

I know you can get the sensor that reads off the cable pickup. problem is trying to find the right one. i think I'm to just witch everything back to the mechanical setup and be done with it.

Call these guys, they get you set up in a hurry. They make in line speed sensor kits. Also GM made a speed sensor for awhile that goes into the hole that a mechanical speedo drive used and you would use a 40 tooth tone wheel in the tranny for it to read.
