well the tranny is slipping, not horrible but bad enough i can tell. Times when it would have broke the tires loose in the past it just revs and slips now. also on the highway any time i decide to pass too hard. i know its my fault for having too much fun:nono:. just wondering if theres any tips to improve the situation? transgo? shift kit? any ideas would be appreciated.

Too late for a shift kit. Thats like putting on a band aid over a sucking chest wound.

Damage is done already brother. Back the power down (I know, I couldnt do it either) or be prepared to drop at least $3500 for a Suncoast level 3.

When you pass remember to use the manual shift to shift it in 4th before you stomp on it. This will help the severe down shift from 4 to 5 then the up shift from 5 to 4.

But your getting ready to go down range again. Stomp on it for now then get yourself a stage 4 when you get back. LOL:cheers2:

Damn it I am in the same boat, once I can find a ranny guy who will actually answer me and respond to my emails I will be ready to through in a stage IV, I was goin to use ATS but it seems he ahs all the money he want's cuz he doesn't answer PM's or emails. But Suncoast is the way to go for sure. IMHO

Mine has been doing it for a while now. I was told it should be throwing codes if it was slipping when I was looking for an intermittent overheat problem. Well, not a single code except for a hot tranny. I believe the heat is coming from the TC as I can feel it slipping and the harder I push it the hotter it gets. When I stomp it to merge it just revs, screams and does not take off like it used to. I backed down and am hoping it will last till the spring as I only use it to pull the camper now and I do not go far. I have been to 5 local tranny shops and they were either clueless or just did not want to mess with my allison due to inexperience.

Have you called Tim at St. Joseph Diesel? Tell him that I referred you. He was running a pretty decent deal on SC IVs recently.
