silencer ring in the turbo

i just did a search on the silencer ring in the turbo and nothing came up som im asking the question is there a gain loss to running in or out or does it just make more noice with it out.

heres the silencer ring in

then out

im undecided as ive been running it in and out and cant realy tell. it does increas volume in the turbo kneck with it out by quite alot. and with the big filter im running the whistler stay pretty much constant wether its in or out.

Did you take it out yet? I've heard of it being done but I'm never known anyone who actually did it. I'd be curious to know if this really makes it louder or not.

its out in the one pick.

ive had it in out tryn to feel if it makes difrince, its much louder.

im startn to think it makes a difrence off idle seems to spool up quicker

If the model on the Duramax could make more noise like that, I'd be all for it.

I'm sure you're not the only one to take out the Silencer Ring. I'd leave it out, and enjoy the Louder Turbo.

gives a headache after awhile. first trip with my filter on i put the silencer ring back in when i got home 8 hours of the tubro whistleing got old
