I went and looked at this truck, and it looks better in the photos. It has an engine that was run out of oil, and it was seized. I can probably get it for $1000, and some plumbing work in trade. I have an 89 with an 82 red block 6.2 from my dads old blazer that has about 200k it runs but the turbo 400 is toast. Should i get this truck and swap the short block from my 89? Would the heads be damaged in the 94 from running them with no oil? the guy said that he was driving down the road and it started to knock then 30 seconds later it was dead. It also has a waste vegetable oil system that he will throw in.

It is worth $1000, no more.
The 200k engine needs to have the pan pulled and see if there are any mains cracks. If so engines are $950 6.2 low mile take outs.

Running truck is worth $2000-3000. It isn't a 4WD and that hurts the value buts makes it cheaper to run and easier to fix.

X2, and like said, it is 4wd. there is a 1500 diesel for sale in houston for 1250.00 w/ engine probs. low-ball in person w/ 750.00 in your hand and see what he does. i would look at replacing bearings, look at the cross hatch and fix the 6.5. heads should be OK. timing chain will prolly be stretched w/ that many miles. check balancer also. relocate pmd.

This truck has no rust, and it's a 4X4 with an automatic. It also has no body damage to speak of, but it has that ugly red interior that Chevy put in at the factory.

I think 1,000 is a good deal.

Suppose the engine in it is totally shot (locked up, cracked, whatever).... You get a 6.5 optimiser from Ted's for about $2,000, plus plan on another $500 or so for oil/filters/hoses/coolant/etc, and drop in it. Now you have a 4x4 pickup with no rust and a new engine with $3500 wrapped up in the whole deal. There are cheaper way's to get it running, but you get what I am saying.

I guess it all depends on how much you need another truck or project.

:D Some of us like the red interiors. I have 3 of them.
The most i've paid for a known blown engine truck is $1200. The latest blown one was rust free for $1000. Most junkyards around here won't pay over $600.

I paid 1k for mine running with engine problems. Id offer 1K for that truck. Body looks great, engine swap needs some serious time and a decent amount of money. If you can do both then id say its worth it!
