Curious as to what shift kit would be a good upgrade for a 6.5 running increased power.

Any one running a shift kit? What are the pros and cons? anything to look at for? Any suggestions on a particular brand?

Thanks

I have 3 shift kits in my tranny, before you say WTF, When my original tranny died I had Aamco install a rebuilt one. I did not know at the time but they put a mild shift kit in when they rebuild them. My Heath HP4 upped the line pressure which is a shift kit of sorts. I had some issues with my tranny after that. Cannot recall the code but I bought a http://flashoffroad.com/Accessories/TcaseTrans/BM_shiftPlus/bmShiftPlus.htm which solved my tranny problems and have had no issues since. All I can say is it does shift fast but not overly hard, I also have the b&m set on the firmest setting. I installed a transgo shift kit in my old 81 T-bird and it would chirp into 2nd. Had an 89 mustang engine in there. The truck won't chirp the tires but it is also a dually. If I went with just the single tires it might chirp into 2nd. Never tried running single tires. Ed

If you are getting your trans rebuilt, have them do a transgo hd2 shift along with redline clutches and a towing/rv converter for the lower stall speed.
