I was looking at the part # section of the stickies and found a discrepancy between the carquest regular belt and the one w/ the vacuum delete. They are the same. Which is it? The P/N belongs to the regular or the vp delete?

Serpentine Belt Carquest - K061010
Serpentine Belt (VP removed) OEM – 4061010, Carquest – K061010

as far as I rememeber, the k061010 is the 101" long serpentine, which is the stock one with vacuum pump.
It's seems your carquest part # are similar to ACDelco part #
If you delete the vac pump, you may need the K061000, 100" long, or the 99.5" long which I don't know part# at ACDelco.
Gatorback gets the 99.5" as part # 4060995.

When I deleted my vac pump, I put first the 100". After few days driving, the tensioner was out of range loose.
I then put a 900". It was tight, too tight and the tensioner was close out of range, but over tensioned this time.

I put the 99.5", and everything is now perfect.

Hope that helps.

Whatever length you end up with, either carve that length in the fan shroud or put it in your signature block now that you've moved off standard.

In my 94 I had to pry the 100" on. Later when I tried larger alternator I found that leaving the alternator unbolted worked real well to get the tight belt over the alternator lip and still be able to then put the bolt back through the alternator.

I took a paint pen and wrote words, vac pump removed use shorter belt p/n..... on my fan shroud so I'd never forget or if somewhere down hiway if belt ever broke when wife was driving it, or our burb that also has vac delete & 99.5" belt, parts weenie, or mechanic would not get confused "knowing" a 101" belt is supposed to go on there according to the book.

Anyone knows what belt to use without both vac and AC?
Planning ahead for when I can't resist the pull of the att any longer...

No vac, No A/C i'm also a 97. 99.5 worked like a champ.

FWIW, I have replaced my alternator before, and believe I have the 2 3/8'ths " pulley on it now. Not sure what was on there before... I'm on 3-4 ALts... (x's changed)

Thanks, I have replaced my alt once myself, not sure about the pulley size though (or the alternative ones..) What belt size did you use before the vac delete?

Want to think it was 100.5... but it may have been 101.... I changed it over when I bought the rig, and kept the old as a spare for years... never had to use it. Pretty sure I just ordered the belt per vehicle info....

The good ol' days... never planned on knowing so much about this truck.... Can never know too much about your daily work rig that you absolutely depend on.
