Trying to figure out how this thing works. I know they used them on old Macks. Basically using this in a 2 battery system the second battery must be isolated correct ? In other word if I were to use this to power a 24v starter on a 12v truck would that affect the charging system ? Would I have the use of both batterys aside from starting ?? I am going to convert my CUCV to 12 and lose the dual alts but I want to try and keep the 24v starter.

looks like it's basically just a switch that would give you parallel when you activated it. which would also isolate it. You'd probably have to use a batt isolator to charge it tho.
