Satellite Radio - Where did you mount it??

Hi All,

Got a Sirius Stiletto 2 mounted in the truck, on top the dash, directly above the factory radio. It sits kinda high up there, so I wonder where you have yours mounted??

I have my XM XpressRC mounted to my ash tray. Its not perfect, but much better than on the vent clip.

i have a stilleto also the first one they came out with havent mounted it in my new truck yey but in my 05 sierra it was mounted down at like knee level in the middle of the bench seat on the dash below all the controlls. that way both i and the passenger could change stations if they wanted. im trying to find a good spot in my new truck to put it cus i hate when i can see the wires and all that everywhere. i think that instead of useing the cig outlet or one of the power outlets im gonna hard wire it in there and run it somewhere where the light is not blinding me while i drive at nite. although it has a auto dim on it i still dont like the light in my face.

Spent most of the day cleaning the truck. Shampooed the carpet, cleaned everything I could. Washed the outside too. Just need to Ice the seats, and do the dash, and we are good to go.
Also mounted the Stilletto II.





No more paying at the car wash, finally got to use the pressure washer.

mine is mounted above the rear view mirror. out of site and in a nice and easy viewing position. i think there are pics in one of my albums.

Just curious for all of you guys. How come you guys just didn't get the Sirius Box that replaces the stock XM Box behind the glove box?

I agree. I have that unit. Works great! At least until I upgrade to an in-dash nav unit. But I have had mine for nearly 2 years now, and works like factory. it even shows up as SR1 and SR2 instead of XM1 and XM2. :thumbsup:

Truck is not XM equipped. I did not know that it existed?? And I got the Stiletto for Christmas, for my Sunfire. Sold the car, moved it to the truck.

i too have the in-dash unit. although, i have an alpine head unit. sorry to hijack, but did GM put XM in thrucks prior to 03? im lookin for a stock GM XM antennia.

Did it share the onstar antenna??

no, it was mounted above the passenger side of the cab. looks like the onstar one, but without the big fin on top
