I hit another deer a couple nights ago and they're gonna have to remove the bed again. I was wondering if there is anything that i can/should do to the frame or anything else that's going to be exposed when they remove it to prevent future rust. Any thoughts?

That por-15 is the shiz-nit. I've been using it for about ten years. Its some of the toughest paint I've ever seen.

One thing to remember is to buy it in cans sized to the job you'll be doing, once you break the seal its going to set up, it'll keep a few weeks but it can harden on you. It cures from the presence of moister, not evaperation. When you reseal a can put about three layers of plastic wrap between the can and lid, or the lid will come off with the top of the can next time, lol.

Well this deer hit me, got it's head caught in the front fender, bent that back so my door won't open, swung around hit the door and the rear cab, got mangled in the rear tire and screwed up the bed. Quite the mess. The entire side of my truck has dents all over it.

Good stuff though, looks like i'll have to swipe my truck while the bed is off and do it.

Ok, i'm seeing conflicting things online. Is the Por-15 just put on and that's it? or is it a three step process like the website says? Looks to be the best, just want to use it right.

WEAR GLOVES if you use POR-15. It's good stuff - just read the directions on the can and follow them. Top coat it with something - doesn't have to be their product. Just coat it to prevent UV from breaking it down. I know, you're doing it on the frame, but I'd still top coat it with something.

Store it in the fridge like the directions say if you have leftover paint and it will keep for years

I have a can of POR-15 that is going on 2 years old and has been opened and closed several times without issue. I put fresh cellophane wrap around the opening, seal it back up and invert the can every time I open it up. When it cures metal to metal is when you have problems. The cellophane prevents metal to metal curing and inverting the can keeps the air out.

Ditto on the gloves as well.

You guys have all the good stuff over the there, I'm sure there must be something similar over here but I ain`t seen any, and I'm really not into chemical descriptions so I'll just have to get some sent over , plus I can't read specially the small print..:D

Thanx for the link Mike.
