(mods if you need to move this, that's fine. I posted here because this is where the 6.5 guys hang out)

Hi guys,

I was at the auto parts store yesterday, and noticed that Shell Rotella is around $20/gallon. I also noticed it says it is "Full Synthetic". Is this a true (non petroleum base stock) synthetic like Mobil 1 or Amsoil, or is it like Castrol Syntec, which is more like super-refined petroleum oil?

Do you guys recommend it, how does it compare to other synthetic oils?

-Rob :)

Shell makes both full syn Rotella and dino Rotella. Price you said is bout right for full syn. I tried it once on mine with 80k on the clock. I didn't like it my pressure droped to a little more than half of Dino( 40 with dino and 20 with syn at idle) I went back to Dino 1. it's cheaper and 2. have better PSI. It might not be something to worry bout but piece of mine for me to have better psi.
