roller lifters

Good day all,

I have received a set of NOS roller lifters.

I already have 5 new ACDelco ones in stock, waiting for my 599 rebuild project, and I received this GM ones.

The box of ACDelco ones are stamped as follows :
1064A2 LC51
ACD# HL84A
GM# 5234530
GR. 0.459

On the GM boxes I found :
#5233645
GR. 0.459
HL-84 (no A)
or
#5233645
GR. 0.459
HL-86C


I do believe these different numbers mean something. AFAIK, the right ones are the ACDelco. Anybody knows if these GM will interchange and what means the GR and HL numbers?

Would it be more wise to buy ACDelco ones to get the same numbers?

how many GM ones did you receive?

I am no help as far as what is right, but I would use the same brand no matter what.

I get:
- 5 ACDelco HL84A (GM# 5234530)
- 3 GM # 5233645 HL84
- 9 GM # #5233645 HL86-C

I wonder what means the HL numbers

Sorry I can't help with those part numers, but here's a little 'lifter trivia'!

I was on the phone with a parts supplier several years ago ordering a single lifter because I found one that was damaged during an overhaul. The guy on the other end told me that the 6.9/7.3 International engines use the same lifter!

I also found that GM # 5234530 and # 5233645 both interchange with Melling JB-2104, so I guess I can mix & use... Though, I'm still curious about the HL-xx numbers...
