Rocky evaporator

You 6.5 guys, I consider you as a part of my familiy, so I ask you, but Mods, feel free to move this thread elsewhere you may think it better suits.

My 76 yrs mum owns a 1990 Rocky Daihatsu. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daihatsu_Rocky

The A/C circuit is down, and it appears the evaporator is "dead".

I've been looking anywhere here in New Caledonia to find one with no luck.
Nothing on the web stores I know too.

For the moment, the weather is pretty fine so we're not in a hurry, but starting september, temperature will raise again as we will go into summer, and I would like to fix it before.

Mum never complains, but I know she suffers from hot weather.

Any of you knows a web store selling such item international ?

What's wrong with the evaporator ? Does it have a leak ? They can be tig welded but usually not worth it but in your case maybe.

You're probably right Kenny, and I was thinking about that, though, the guy who works on A/C tells me it's a PITA to pull out this evaporator.
I'm not very confident in quality of job welding done here, so that's why I'm looking for a new part, for peace of mind, and especially cause I want my mum to get sure of what she gets.
