During a phone call with Tim,(Turbine Doc), we got on the subject of modifications to the suspension that improve your load carrying capabilities. Of course, air bags where mentioned, but another item that was mentioned was the Roadmaster Active suspension. Curious enough about it, I went and purchased the unit from my local Hecht Trailer. Now, the unit itself is designed to be mounted on the rear leaf springs, and works in conjunction with you leaves in order to provide great load carrying capabilities, without the need of air compressors, weak hose or bags that get damaged for being under inflated. Its a simple bolt on kit(took me about 4 hours to install, and most was BS cleaning up dirty parts and repainting them. More than likely, I couldn't see it taking more than an hour for average Joe. Theres no need for any fancy tools, no massive wrenches, no cutting, no welding and no drilling. Aside from there latent ability to absorb load instead of try and resist it, it also completely eliminated my body roll(no sway bar). I'm EXTREMELY impressed and pleased with the kit. I'll be buying it for the rear springs when funds allow. To hell with air bags- these things are so much better and more convenient.

My drivers side leaf spring was giving me problems from day one. It just didn't take the load as well as the other side for whatever dumb reason, so it sat lopsided till today(pass. side was always higher). And there where days that, depending on how much I drove, the drivers spring would sag to the point that the tires would rub at certain points in the steering radius.

Ride quality has sky rocketed. There is almost NO body roll when taking corners anymore, the truck sits perfectly level now, no more "nose dives" when braking or hitting bumps, and overall it seems to ride alot better. The kit itself is really for the rear springs, but I went and put it out front because of the weak spring.

Its supposed to have absolutely no change in ride quality when used on rear spring applications. It only comes into effect when load is applied, then instead of resisting it like the springs do, it absorbs it.
