I've got the engine out of my 93 in my sig. I started it before I pulled it out. It ran badly and had excessive noise. The flex plate was broke and the bolts on the ip drive gear were loose. When I pulled the heads there was rust in #7 cyl. I'm pretty shure that running the engine with the rust wiped out the rings in that cyl. I priced rings at several places on line and the cheapest for rings for 1 cyl was $120 at rock auto. Is this a crazy price? Is there a better place to buy them? It's hard to believe that a set of rings costs more than the piston. Everything else inside the engine looks great. At this time my plan is: hone #7, new rings, New timing chain, arp head studs, Fel-pro gaskets and new injectors. The ip has less than 500 miles on it. Thoughts?

Thanks.I hadn't gotten to looking on e-bay yet. Can't hardly beat that price. Just checked napa. $75
