This guy seems like he is good on price but wont return calls or emails sounds shakey...http://www.dieselautoparts.com has anyone got ripped off from this guy yet ? Thought if i used paypal would be safe but paypal closed there account to ??? :nono:Thaks guys Bill

Did you try rockauto.com for the rings? Or northernautoparts.com for rings.

Okay that is Chris's site Diesel Direct, on factory parts his prices are good and he has as far as I know always made good on deliveries of those, his sourcing of aftermarket blocks is sporadic though, it took me forever to get my project engine block from him, rest of stuff was no problem. IMO he runs on tight budget, too tight and floats orders customer to customer to keep him funded, his communications have always been spotty, but he did make all things right with me & member Ratman when the shipping of blocks was an issue.

If you have patience to keep the lines of communication going yourself I'd say you could buy from him, if frustrated by lack of communications then do not do business with him.

Keep eye on you card's time limit for reporting non recieved merchandise, I was worried on mine when my block did not arrive after 6 mos, he did refund my card after I said I could not wait any longer, and when inventory of blocks did come in I did buy one from him eventually. Block was overseas original (I suspect China) AMG copy, my machinest & builder was impressed with metalurgical content of the block, mainlines needed slight trueing but not bad, my builder to his testament is anal about such things.

Pistons, rings, heads (Proline/China), rods (reman), gaskets sets, bearings all came within days of ordering though, only issue I had was block delivery, be sure to get tracking info with placement of the order, thta is slow in coming also.

Mixed review of him & sevices, I've been to his place of business he's a nice guy but like most small businesses these days, always just on the brink of either hitting big or failing.

Probably a good thing, as though a quality product (at least one I got) more hassle to him than it was worth, I suspect importation hassles for him were a bear. I suspect other vendors selling a low $$$ AM Gen block are selling the copied version, that DD was selling.

Does anyone know are his cylinder heads assembled in US or china? And are they really better then any chinese head from ebay?

I think they are China all way, I have set on my project engine, I've not run or installed that engine yet to say good or bad, Proline is what he sells, but looks like a good head, Clearwater ebay has had mixed reviews, some good some bad, reviews.
