Has anyone with a Rhino Liner ever had a tear in it and gone back and had the liner resprayed? Was it honored by their lifetime warranty?

I am sure they will honor their warranty, they sure would hate bad publicity.

:mad2: You would be surprised to learn they call it "abuse". It's a Fing pickup truck! What exactly is normal wear and tear?

Good luck getting them to fix it as we haven't had any in the past.

I did have on AND they repaired it. Must of had a good distributor or luck. I had a section come loose after about six months. Tore about a 8 inch gash and pulled a small section up. The distributor cut out around it and resprayed the area. Matched pretty well.

Exactly why I went with LineX
7 1/2 years and still holding up great. Lifetime warranty with no questions asked to boot

Improper prep. When I had mine done the guy let me clean my own bed, to save some dough. He also said if it wasn't clean enough he would charge me to clean it anyway. He said it was the cleanest one he'd seen an owner do. He still spent an hour scuff sanding everything so it would adhere better. 6 or 7 years later still in pretty good shape and I use my bed.

Thank you for the responses. I am going to try and see what I can get done.

Did they respray the entire bed, or just the local area?

Don't get me wrong or misunderstand, as mine is still in great shape. I just have a few small areas where I have a small slice or tare, probably from all the wood that I was carrying. Other than that, mine has held up very well. I had it installed when my truck was only a few days old. :)

Jeff, the liner was done a week after I bought the truck. I've hauled lots of firewood, appliances, lumber, lawn garden and farm tools/equipment, etc and the coating still is as sound as new. I looked at both brands and went with where I thought my $500 was well spent. I've seen many Rhino beds beat up after a couple of years. That doesn't help you now but will some day

good luck with that...the original installer is the only one who will warranty it...if they are still in business...Rhino liner doesn't make any other installer warranty the liners installed by another installer...

I like the rhino better than the lineX but you're screwed if your original installer goes belly up...

Like AK said, was'int preped correctly.
90% are not. I used to own a bed liner co. So I would really watch the competition. I saw so many that were not preped at all.
To prep one is ALOT! OF WORK!! especialy in August heat, so you really have to watch them and make sure they do it right.

To fix one you need to really redo atleast that panel. Take a razor knife and cut an edge then start peeling (=PITA). If you just spray over the old and try to feather in the new there is a good chance the new will not adhere to the old stuff.

Mine was prepped correctly. I saw the guy do the whole thing. He took a sander to my brand new truck and took the shine off the entire inside of the bed. After scuffing the paint all up, he wiped the entire bed down. Let it sit for a while and masked off the entire bed. He then sprayed the bed. It took almost 5 hours for the job to be completed and I could take the truck. The damage came from what I loaded in the bed. SLIGHT SLICES IN THE RUBBER SURFACE. It does not appear to go all the way through to the metal of the bed.

They redid the local area after cutting around the bad spot. worked well.

Line-X is my choice over Rhino Liner. I like the look and feel better.. I can't say how good mine has held up because it sits in the garage and I don't haul much with it. :D

My father has had his Rhino liner since new on his 03 duramax. He has had the bed warrantied twice with no issues. He had his paperwork with him and they didnt say much other then come back in a couple hours.

$550 8 years ago. Over the rail and under the tailgate included. I'd imagine it's quite a bit more now.
