Another 6.5 blow her engine :nonod:

the guy is now asking me for a spare engine. None to find here, I search under every coconut tree I know, but couldn't find any.

I believe I'll have to look for that in US or Canada. Australia and New Zealand are closest, but i bet they import their 6.5 parts from there too....

So, I found reman engines from Promar and 6.5l on fleabay. At first glance, they appear to be good solution, as the engine I need is a stock one, and their prices are affordable...

Any of you had a deal with those companies ? Any other you may suggest and who is able to ship international ?

Thanks.

I'd be leary of 6.5l,,, Last I knew the were drop shipping engines from International Diesel. and That company was a real pain in my ass, when the reman I got from there, lasted 1400 miles, and #5 rod broke thru the block. Then I had to pay again to have bad engine pulled, ship it back, and they made me pay return shipping on my 2nd reman from them. After trying to deny my warranty claim, after some cussing, and legal threats, they did ship a new engine. I do have about 23000 miles on that one, but I really *****foot my driving, as I have a feeling like it will break again if I'm too hard on it.
Just my 2cents worth.

Can ya share what year & milage was on the one that blew?
286 000 kms, 1996 truck. Has my previous Max-E-torx V2 from Bill Heath, marine injectors, TDCO -1.94, S&B cone filter, straight pipe... and a young driver with heavy right foot, ignoring my warnings about his leaking waterpump.
Results : cracked cylinder walls # 4 and #8, cracked heads (both) overheated camshaft and auto-welded bearings., etc...

so he need another engine

What about a shipping quote for me?):h

mmm, I can quote after you PM me a pic :D

Matuva, is the one you sold the blown engine?

No no, would me more than upset. My ex is said to make head turn in the north of island . I'm a bit proud of that ....

Matuva, you might want to try these guys, also...Their warranty seems good, and I haven't heard anybody badmouthing them.

I have no personal experience with them.

Matuva, do you fish for the huge bonefish that are rumored to swim the shallows around New Caledonia?

Big T, no, not myself, I do squid jigging and scubba hunting when younger, but I'm in trouble with internal ear, so...
But I have met fishermen who did and seen some TV news about that fish, when they talked about people coming from ather countries, especially for this fish.
In fact you find it at a main spot located at the north of New Caledonia, around Poum village, Malabu shore and other beaches from the area, where you have shallow sands and grass flats.

I have to say I was surprised when I learnt we are supposed to have one of the world spot where you can find the biggest bonefishes...:D

Matuva, truth told I do a bit of fishing......all types. Current quarterly newsletter of the International Game Fishing Association (IGFA) shows a new record for Pacific Barracuda on fly tackle under my name (Stephen Mras). The bonefish is one I have never targeted. I have seen an article detailing New Caledonia as a destination to target world record sized bonefish. I seem to recall there's areas at the north end and the south east end. Also indicated that everything there is expensive. :-(
