When relocating my PMD to an FSD I noticed I have a #7 resistor. Is there any benefit (economy or power) to changing to a different size resistor?

word i hear is you would not notice a difference. either in seat of the pants or not. Ed

Bill H puts in a #7 R in his FDS so there must be a good reason, Todd did explain one time, but as the norm in 1 ear out the other..i`ll have to do something about that, maybe it`s the age,,, or the Viking Wife..! :D

Only way to KNOW which is best is to put your IP on a bench and test the IP, remember it is a calibration resistor, depending health of the IP you may need more or less resistor than the 5 which is the nominal 0 for flow change to meet the spec. purpose of different resistors is to get the IP to meet the test spec flow.

#7 resistor is good middle of the road, I ran a #9 which is supposed to be most you can run without coding I never saw much if any change with it over the 7, if you have a 9 run the 9, if you have a 7 run it, IMO I would not lose much sleep over what one was in your driver.

:iagree:The only reason I bought a #9 was becasue I was leaving my old FSD on the pump and the new remote one didn't come with a resistor. Just like TurbineDoc said, I didn't feel any difference in performance.

According to GMTDScantech #9 res. was a .35mm3 improvement in fuel delivery over a #6 res. I didn't notice the difference needless to say. Leo
