Replacing low pressure A/C switch

I replaced every component in my A/C system (last year I think) with all brand new stuff, and converted it to 134 while I was at it. I noticed that the oem pressure switch said R12 on the side of it. Well, that switch has now failed and I need to replace it so, I was wondering with 134 gas would it be better to use a R12 switch with 134 gas or just ask for a switch for a year that used 134 from the factory? My question is based on performance. I know my A/C worked really well with the r12 switch but it would kinda suck (like 48-55 degree duct temps when idling for more than 5 minutes or so.

Thanks

The factory 134a pressure switch has slightly bigger threads. You'll prolly have to get an adjustable one that fit the r12 threads or find one setup for the 134a pressures with r12 threads. Wouldn't hurt to put a relay on it, I've only been getting a year out of my A/Cdelco ones lately.

It wouldn't hurt to get a 134 switch, but it may not be necessary. Make sure that the condenser, radiator and any other cooling devices you may have behind the grille are clean of bugs, dirt and whatever. I cleaned mine a few days ago and I gotta tell ya, the difference in the A/C cooling is remarkable.
