I need to replacing some front end bushings on my 94. The ones I need to do now are where the upper control arm mounts to the frame. What do I need to do this? Just remove bolts and replace? Jack the truck up or not? I normally would just tear into some like this and figure it out as I go, but I dont have alot of time/money to screw stuff up anymore ):h

If you are replacing with stock mushy rubber bushings they come with the steel shells. Remove upper a=arm and press shells and bushings out, press new one in. If replacing with polyurethane they don't come with new shells and you have to heat the shells to remove the rubber[stinky]. Alignment is a must after replacement.

I lubricated the inner steel shells and new main shafts (the shafts that the bushings ride on) with Pure Nickel Special Never-Seeze before I had the shop change them. This was on my '87 GMC, but similar design. Cost me $800 CAN total.

I also provided all the parts, along with new re-enforced lower control arms, and brand new heavy duty coil springs. So it was a pricey job, but they should last a VERY long time now. I burned the old bushings out with a torch (outside of course).
