I replaced the AC control head and now my AC works again. I still have the problem where I switch it to blow out the vents and it still blows partially out the floor, and when you drive it for a while sometimes you hear it clunk and then it blows fully out of the vents. Can anybody point me to where that servo is that controls this or provide any hints on troubleshooting it?
Thx,
Bob

Just to the right of the gas pedal/app. I had the linkage fall off on my 95 and had to remove the dash and hvac. It truely sucked just to put the linkage back together. If you are lucky it is just the actuator motor going bad. Things dropped down the defrost vents can jamb things also. You may want to take the air deflector off the floor vent to see if anything might drop out. If you replace the actuator motor, plug in the wiring to the motor before mounting and turn the key on to get the motor in the position that the control is in.

Thanks BK. I pulled that deflector off and the servo is working fine and closing. As it turns out what I was hearing was not air flow thru the floor vents but it is coming from the side of the blower motor that goes toward the front of the truck.

You are hearing a thunk from the recirculation door.

Try this, set the AC to outside air. Engine on. Make sure you are not in max cool. Blower to low speed. Point is low AC load so the door will stay closed. High load goes to rec on it's own.

Look and see if the door is closed. Then push on the door lightly. If you can move it the door control motor assy is bad.

This drove me nuts on my 95 Yukon till I discovered the push it open weakness. Then it would hunt around and thunk once after a couple min. Weak as wind while driving would start it hunting after it moved out of position. Maybe a gear is slipping on a shaft in the controller - Whatever...
