I just got a 94 B6 :hurray: that i want to put in my Suburban. It's all torn down but he price was right. it came with new pistons and some bearings. Visually it appears pretty good. Seems like somebody wanted to rebuild it then just gave up.
Is there anything particular i should be looking for? Should i magnaflux it before i take it to the shop/ What parts do i need to take to the machine shop? How do i find a good shop? What should i look for in the injection pump? How hard is it to rebuild the pump if necessary?
That's all for now. Thank you.
Have to say it, been drooling all over it.

What year Burb? 4X4?
6BT have the "killer dowl pin" that you need to address. Google it.

What trans you going to run?

94 K2500 6.5 TD Silverado.
The engine came with that piece of metal that holds the pin in place.
I'm thinking NV4500 depending on $ availability. The 4L85E the truck came with still runs great so it would do (i think) if necessary with an aftermarket controller until the dollar tree provides.

I have a 6bt in the shop waiting for a project, have the bread truck adaptor set up also.
If you were not aware you can get everything you need to adapt the engine to trans off the 1980's Gruman bread trucks. Ebay has the adapter alot of the time.
I sell an OptiShift controller for the 4L80E if you need one.
