After draining my fuel tank of the #2 that was put into it earlier this week by some unnamed dumbass...had my new tires mounted today and didn't feel like taking the wheels off myself... figured since the bike shop wasn't charging me for installation, what the hell- let them do it.

The owner comes to me and says- good news/bad news. The tires are mounted up and you're almost ready to roll. Bad news though- we gouged the swingarm with the stand. :nonod:

They've offered to either have it re-powder coated which I'm skeptical of because of all the stuff that has to be removed. Oil lines running to the swingarm, etc. He also offered to have the guy that does their paint work put on some red accents that match the emblems on the airbox. I was leaning more towards that option, given that it simply can't be touched up with paint. Did some touch-up a la sharpie tonight. I can't win.

Man, that sucks.

As far as the bike shop, how about them coming up with something like "I am terribly sorry that we damaged your bike. Please have the swingarm replaced at a shop of your choice and we will pay the bill directly to the shop."

That's horrible about your bike man, I'm sorry to see that. I've been through your garage and drooled. When it first came out I didn't know how I'd feel about it; the pictures of it then were less than flattering... after seeing some 'real world' pictures I REALLY like it!!

I think some subtle red accents matching those wheels/tank would be really sharp looking!

Edit: By the pictures of THEN i meant the magazines

Holy Frick I'd be angry. New swingarm no question. This is a new bike, not an old POS. Good luck with whatever you choose Grady.

Question: would your or the shops insurance cover it maybe?

Grady, thats not good. You have had a tough time this week with the bike. At least they owned up to and are willing to right the wrong. It's up to you to decide if their suggestions are acceptable to you. Good luck with what you decide......
