Hey guys before I put the flywheel in and clutch I noticed that the rear seal is alittle bit wet. It doesn't drip but just want you guys to see if I should replace it or just let it be. One mechanic I spoke with said if it isn't very bad don't mess with it. I think some of the oil is coming from between the oil pan and the block at the seal. Again it doesn't drip it is just wet.

Possible but unlikely that the seal is bad. You need a special tool to install the seal. Getting the old one out is no treat either. Good chance of scratching the crank. How old is your CDR valve?[NAPA $45] By the looks of your oil filter adapter it could use some new o-rings. Pretty easy to get at right now. The o-rings are stealer or PMDcable.com parts.

Rear Seal

Thanks BK for the response. Good point given in the CDR can. I think it is original with 240,000 miles on it. I got one of ebay a few years back. I will put her on. I don't expect anyone to check these numbers on the cdr but I am hoping that I have the correct one. If they look familiar please let me know. CV910 AC 25097696. I will look at the numbers on mine and hope they match.:smile5:

Also the seals in the filter adapter were changed about 1 year ago. They didn't leak for a while but they are leaking abit now. I wonder should I change them again. I don't remember changing the brass washer though.

Leroy's[pmdcable]kit includes the copper washer. Not all filter adapters use the copper washer. 95?+don't. If you use the copper washer in one that isn't supposed to have it ,it will make it leak because it throws the sealing area for the small o-rings off. Guess how I learned that:mad2::mad2:

I would definatly change the main seal now, while you have it down that far.
My trans guy did mine for me last time. He said he didint need any special tools.
If you need the 4x4 filter adapter seals let me know.

Thanks Berry for the referal.
