that is right - a VW Scirocco !!!

Why did someone spec 8 qts of oil on the "Diesel Power" cover? Mine takes 7. Are the OBDII trucks different or do you think it has a different pan or bypass system?

Fingers had a '95 cab/chassis 6.5 TD with a tool box on it he bought new. When he started to get out of full-time construction he was thinking about putting a regular long bed on it. He figured it would take a little tubbing of the wheel wells and maybe some moderate fender flares, but you could basically have a dually with a fleet side bed....that would be neat on a crew cab with duals...

Why are the frame rails on that truck parallel and the ones on my 2500 are narrower at the back....by about a foot? Seems to me like the dually would need more room for the extra tire so it would be visa versy.

Hey MiniSub,

I don't know the exact date of the switchover, but I know that my 'burb take 8 quarts, and it does NOT have any HD pan or bypass system. I believe that '97 may have been the year when they started putting in 'piston cooling' and increased the sump capacity?

P.S. On the other hand, the '95 Tahoe only takes 6 I think.

The frame rails on the HD's are straight in order to mount service bodies. They are made to a standard width so body manufacture's don't have to make 10 different models of beds to fit 10 different trucks. Your frame is a light duty one ton and is made more for ride comfort from a more compliant suspension than the heavier duty suspension on the HD. Also the track width of the axle can be had in narrow, standard or I think even wider to fit different configurations of beds.

My 95 yukon takes 8 qts of oil... as to the difference btwn our trucks having the same engine but different capacitys... idk

My frame looks like that, I have 2 4x4's over each from rail that my service body sits on. Everything is bolted down with a few large U bolt assemblies.

Dang, I would buy that in heart beat . . . if I had the money. I do not live to far from there. Dang!
