Well I got my truck back today the only rust on it was the bed wheel well and my rad support is shot. My question is can I get a new rad support please tell me it's not like the ford where they don't make a replacement.

LMC trucks might have one. Rock auto might also. I would look around on Ebay. Our try a wrecking yard down south.

Well are the gas trucks the same exact thing as a diesel truck are the radiators the same size?

LMC has them, I see them on craigslist. National Parts Depot just put out a catalog for our trucks as well. The best price will be craigslist locally, due to shipping, and I see them for sale in my neck of the rustbelt often.

Will the gas job fit the diesel are they the same exact rad support. I know ford is diesel only because the rad is 2x the size.

I had to replace my rad core support due to damage from kissing the tree. Fortunately I found one off a 93 diesel, mine is a 94, and it was a perfect swap. However, the gasser core support has a smaller rad opening. If my memory is correct, it's been 5 years since I bought this as a project truck, the core support has filler plates that can be removed to accommodate the larger diesel rad. I haven't deliberately been looking at core supports in the pick-n-pulls lately.

OK thanks will just have to order it when it warms up and see if lmc truck is right I hope so I had hell of a time when I had my 7.3 I finally just re welded it and that was no fun.

I got my truck with accident damage and was given an 80's gasser to pick apart. Here is what I had to do:
-Cut larger opening for radiator
-Add holes for battery tray bolts on both sides, as well as clearance for a socket as these go through a tubular section.
-Cut lower brackets for the ac condenser from diesel rad support and weld em on. Can be fabricated easily if originals are NLA.
-Transfer the cross braces and hardware from the diesel over.
-Add a nut for the lower cross brace bolt - it's welded on to the rad support originally on diesel, but one of the gasser cross braces has the nut originally with none on the rad support. Not necessary to weld, just tighten it.
Not much else I can recall, but there could have been other small details. It wasn't very hard at all, but certainly would be easier if you had the right part. I had it done in an afternoon and all mounted. Still on the truck. Good luck!!

Ok thanks for the info I might just order the one from ksi or lmc that says for diesel and if it needs some modification I guess that's what I'll have to do.

Yeah it's not a lot of work but you would have to pretty much have the wrong one coming to you for practically nothing like I did to make it worth it. I just don't think that they're that expensive.
