The dome override switch on the headlight switch controls em. IIRC the fuse for them is part of the headlight circuit.

Do you have the interior light bypass switch next to your headlight switch? Round button below the dash brightness dial.

i have the dial and that does not turn it off, i alredy tried.
do not know what bypass switch you mean.... so i guess i do not have it....

When you pull your fuse cover off, is there a label there telling you which fuse does what? Also, the owner manuals usually list the fuse ID's.

I'll check on mine, but being as it's a '98 it may/may not be different than yours.

The fuse is in the center column. It is a 20 amp labeled "CTSY". It does not affect anything else.

my trucks interior lights never come on unless i physically push the switch next to the light

Me too, thats how i like it. Look underneath your headlight switch. ON the switch itself there is a dome overide button. Un-press that, and your dome light should come on with the door open.

i like the fact they dont come on because the only time i ever need them is when its 10 at night and i need to start the truck and i cant see where i need to put the key in so i scratch up the plastic trying to find the hole. (thats what she said)

On 94 models the override switch was optional and was not part of the headlight switch. It is located under the switch at the bottom of the dash in the row of knock outs.

In my truck that switch is for the cargo light.

My truck is just worn in really well. The door switch is worn out so the light does not come on unless I wiggle the switch.

I would be more worried about all the noise a diesel makes, wouldn't that effect the stealthiness more?

What turning down the dash lights, isn't there a click after you turn them down all the way to kill the dome light?

well of course, but when i idle into some where and then have to open a door to get in the back the lights always mess me up.

there is no click with mine to turn down the dome lights.
also no extra switch.
