Question about RRadiator Overflow Bottle on K47 Airbox trucks

Can someone with a truck that came with a K47 airbox snap a picture of the radiator overflow bottle? I'm interested on how the small hose from the top of the radiator connects to the water bottle. On my truck with a retrofitted K47, the hood hinge gets very close or maybe hits this hose. I see the later trucks have a different part number for the bottle, I'm wondering if they redesigned the fitting for the hose. Thanks!

I'll go take pictures right now.

Batts charging.

It exits the tank, and goes directly towards the PS side fender, then 90's straight down well before the hood hinge. there is a plate/notch int he resevoir tank that it follows, and goes behind and under the airbox in between the airbox and the fender.

Pictures in about an hour.

Ok.. Sorry I was describing the vent hose thats by the cap.

The hose that goes to the radiator is routed as explained above, however it connects to the radiator in the bottom left corner of the overflow. its nowhere near the hood hinge, its at the bottom of the tank by the fender.

There is also a large feed that attaches on the right side lower of the tank.

Then there is the overflow hose itself which is open ended, and that goes out and 90's straight down to open hose.

My camera is shot, wont read the disk, its way too old and I need a new one.

IF yours is hitting the hood hinge, I would expect the tank design to be different. Bummer I can't take a picture of it.

could be because I didn't quite get all the mounting hardware with my airbox. So I made it work with a mix of parts.

OK on mine that hose on the left is routed underneath the airbox, still pressed against the fender, and attaches to the tank straight shot to the bottom left.

It routes underneath the 'funnel' piece that attaches the fender to the airbox.

If your hose attaches to the tank on the top corner, thats the major difference, they moved that to the bottom left corner so it routes straight shot under the airbox.

I removed my flat box mounting bar & bolted the K47 using the one of the rubber grommets into the forward existing mount hole from the old bracket directly onto the inner fender. My K47 box is very close to my overflow rubber hose. I never moved or touched the hose that connects the overflow jug to the radiator.

I posted my mounting pics in this on post # 29

Can you tell us how the nipple for the hose is oriented? Mine points straight up, which requires the hose to make a 90 degree bend almost immediately to clear the hinge. If it came straight forward, it would be better.

pics are from 97 k3500 6.5td w/k47 connection is on the bottom of the jug

Just to wrap this up, I ordered a new overflow bottle and installed it. The newer bottle does route the hose away from the hood hinge, so I think its an improvement.

Overflowold.jpg

The old bottle had the small hose coming up and then making a 90 degree turn forward. With the K47 airbox, the hood hinge would hit the hose when you closed the hood.

OverflowNew.jpg

The newer style has the nipple facing forward.

Which routes the hose straight forward under the airbox and away from the hood hinge.

Thanks for the pictures and help on this one guys!
