Some of you might know I had a 1996 6.5 K3500 daully that spun a rod on me while towing. I wasnt on the forums then and I never asked about it. I parted the truck out and saved what I wanted for my 94 as I had them both at the same time. I was going threw some things and I found the codes it had that I never did anything about. It had 14x,000 miles all stock with newer injecters. It was getting hard to start (IP?)but it was well serviced. I was towing a empty 24 gooseneck going down hill when she blew. Was NOT running hot..
Codes where:
intake air temp sensor
coolant temp sensor
inj. pump metering control
timing ref. high res. signal 'a' malfunction

Its not any big deal as there is no truck or even block left, just curious :smile5: Any idea why she blew?

Well those codes could have made it run rich/lean so you could have overworked the engine or filled the crankcase with fuel, causing the bearing to spin.

The engine nightmare I had filled the crankcase in 5 minutes, or diluted the oil pretty fast, running rich. It doesn't take long.

Rich/Lean aren't even part of diesel vocabulary.

You really can't put too much fuelinto a diesel, at least not to the point of flooding the crankcase.
The fuel will simply burn as the air is a constant.

Now a failed IP front seal can flood fuel into the engine though.
Or on an older 6.2 with a mechanical lift pump, the pump can leak causing fuel to enter the crankcase.
