Question about 93 Spec Lift pump amperage pull vs. other years

I am needing to stick a Lift pump in one of my rigs (the new 99 Chassis cab that isnt in my signature yet, sold old man the 96 to finace the 99 :) ) and I was wondering about how many amps the 93 lp pulls vs. other year lps. the reason I ask is that I am concerned about harming the factory wiring or limiting the life span of the ops or relay.

so, should i be concerned about the life span of the components, and stick with the 99 spec lp, or is the difference so little, I should buy a 93 pump?

also, what was the first year that the LP was ran from an OEM relay, and not directly off the OPS? was it 96?

any input appreciated, thanks!

The factory wiring will handle the 93 just as good as any other one. I personally don't see any difference in the 93 one vs later ones.

Yes the 1993 LP will fry the OPS just as well as other years... :hihi: Till the relay was used.

I suggest a completely different pump

it's not the relay it has to do with obd2. the lift pump is powered thru 2 sources the OPS and the ECM. both have to fail

IMHO from what I have seen they are all basically junk until you spend real money for a Fass or Airdog setup. I personally don't see any of them blowin my hair back. The Walbros seem to be plagued with the same issues as the stock ones from what I have read around here.
I have a 93 one on my Burb. I'm not impressed. The Raptor on my CUCV is a serious LP. I will not use anything but from now on.
Cumminalong can get a pretty good price on them.

thanks for the input guys, I would like to go with a hotter LP setup, but funds only allow for stock., Plus, my idea of big power is probably lower than you guys' so I should be happy with stockish fuel system. we will see though!
